Popejoy Schooltime Series - Always new worlds to explore

EXPLORATIONS

Creativity, Imagination, Communication, Literacy
Always new worlds to explore.

Yellow Bg GlobeArt begets art. We love receiving the responses of students after they see a Schooltime show; they create wonderful expressions of art and respond with exceptional explorations through various mediums of how the shows and lessons affected them. Let’s share with each other. We will post the art on our Facebook page, where you can share the posts with students and their families.

We invite all kinds of imaginative and creative explorations, including:

  • Reactions to attending a show at Popejoy Hall, including how the show made the students feel;
  • Memories of a moment or scene that really stood out and why;
  • Expressions in the form of drawings, paintings, collages, sculptures, poems, stories, essays, scripts or in any other form;
  • Short videos of lessons from the Dreamcatchers study guides, putting on a play, talking about their experiences at Popejoy or the creation process.

If you would like to keep your art, you and your class can also scan photos of the work and the artistic process and post them yourselves on our Facebook page.

Otherwise, you can send them to us and we will post them on a bi-weekly schedule. Submissions must be no larger than an 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper.

Required information on the back of each submission: Artist’s name and e-mail address (We will only list first name and last initial), teacher’s name and e-mail address, school and grade.

  • Please make sure we can distinguish the teacher’s information from the student’s.
  • Make sure the writing does not bleed through to the picture side.
  • Please provide your return address on the envelope.
  • Large, pre-addressed envelopes may be picked up at the show.
  • Responses from an entire class may be put into one envelope.

We hope this sounds like fun, while at the same time fitting into the New Mexico Fine Arts/Visual Arts and Language Arts/Expressive Language Writing Standards and Benchmarks.

Enjoy!
